Let’s Get Fit

Start with the family pet. Taking your dog for a walk burns about seven calories per minute.

Lowering your legs on a down escalator burns four calories per minute. Going up an escalator burns ten calories a minute and is a great resistance workout for the legs.

When in the office, don’t use the phone to talk to your co-worker. Get up and walk over to their desk and burn up to six calories per minute.

When commercials come on television, get up and walk around for those three minutes and burn six calories per minute per commercial.

Dust your house often. The up and down movement burns up to nine calories per minute and works different parts of the body.

Put the power tools down when fixing something. Get out the screwdriver and manually do it. A great workout for joints and arm flexes.

While sitting in front of the television or at your desk, raise your feet off of the floor and hold in the abdomen for a minute; release and do some more.

Don’t use a blow dryer on your hair when you can towel dry it and get a shoulder workout.

Use a brush to clean those difficult corners on the floor; a great workout for the back of the legs and buttocks.

Save yourself twenty bucks by washing the car yourself; you also burned up 100 calories.

Weeding your flower beds can burn up to a whopping 600 calories.

Mix all of the above ingredients with a little motivation and you are on your way to becoming more fit.
